Don Hemmes, professor emeritus UH Hilo and longtime Hawaii Palm Society member, welcomes biennial attendees to Hawaii Island and talks about the early days of HIPS and its legacy garden at the Panaewa Zoo. Shelley Hoist, award winning palm fiber artist shares her unique perspective and relationship with palms through images of her vast range of past work and commissionable pieces.
