Bob Carrere and Andy Pesce are welcoming HIPS members once again to one of Hawaii's most celebrated gardens and possibly one of the most extensive palm collections in the world.   Bob and Andy named the garden Moani: Lundkvist Garden. "Moani" is a Hawaiian word meaning gentle fragrant breeze, and Lundkvist honors the garden's creators Bo and Karolyn Lundkvist.  Bo is a past president of both the International Palm Society and Hawaii Island  Palm Society.   The garden suffered during the last eruption but has been revived to its former glory.  This tour is not to be missed.

The story of how Bob and Andy found this paradise can be found in the June HIPS Newsletter.

HIPS has received special permission to host an event with 50 attendees in a morning and an afternoon session.  The county and owners of the garden have requested only vaccinated members attend, masks recommended, and social distancing is required.
