Join us at the zoo for what has become a HIPS arbor day tradition.  This year we have reserved the large pavilion next to the playground and petting zoo and will once again celebrate arbor day by giving away palms (limit one per family).  We will have information tables and a variety of 10-15 minute talks and demonstrations, starting with How to Germinate Seeds and General Palm Culture by Tim Brian, Battling Pests and Diseases by Mary Lock, How to Tie Orchids to Palms by Rick Kelley, and Cycads as Companion Plants for Palms by Don Hemmes.  The day will end with a walking tour of the zoo's palm collection with Tim Brian.
